Competitive analysis
I tried 3 competitive apps; Memrise, Araby and Anki App, while analyzing an assessment of their strengths and weaknesses in order to get an idea of what future users might expect from my mobile flashcard app project
User Interviews and Empathy Map
I conducted a series of user interviews for my mobile flashcard app project, in order to gain insights into the needs and wants of users. I summarized after that what the interviewees are doing, thinking, and feeling into an Empathy map.
User Persona
Problem statement:
Iman need a fast way to learn few words every day, that will help her stay focused and motivated, because she needs to improve her English while leading work meeting and while traveling around the world
Hypothesis statement:
We believe that by creating a game-based app, using images, videos and text, and tracking her progression and sending notifications and reminders for Iman, we will achieve her goal learning 10 words by week, and being a good communicator, able to share her thoughts and ideas.
Concepting
Task analysis
I identified the main tasks our persona will need to accomplish her goals. Here’s a visual of how she’s expected to move through the “information space” of the application utilizing task analyses.
Low Fidelity Wireframes
Prototyping and user testing
Usability testing
SCOPE : The purpose of this usability test plan is to test a low fidelity prototype of "vocalia"; an application that helps to learn new vocabulary
SCHEDULE :
Adam, in person, 13/05/2018
Gael, via skype, 13/05/2018
Naila, via skype, 13/05/2018
Mia, in person, 13/05/2018
SESSIONS: 4 sessions of approximatively 10 mins each.
EQUIPMENT: The participants are going to test the application via Prott on their phones.
I will use Skype to connect with 2 of the participants, my laptop, a pen and a notebook to take quick notes while watching the users going through each task
METRICS: Jakob Nielsen’s error severity rating scale
DIRECT TASKS:
1.Create a new account
2.Take the daily class and save your new vocabulary
3.Play a game with your friends
4.Modify your profile
